Reports in the Italian press via Sportwitness believes that 5-time European champions, Liverpool are ready to raid Lazio for the services of two of their best players, who were responsible for their relative success this term. The Rome outfit qualified for the Europa League next season, and the likes of Keita Balde and Stefan de Vrij were key to that achievement.
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has cast glances at the pair, and believes a double bid of around of £50m could be enough to see the players swap the famous Stadio Olimpico for those glorious European nights at Anfield.
Italian media publication, Il Messegaro reported on Thursday that for the past few days, the Reds have been in talks for former Barcelona man, who has lit up the Serie A this season.
The 22-year-old Senegalese is wanted as cover for Sadio Mane, who got injured for some parts of this season, and his absence almost threatened to derail Liverpool’s top 4 ambitions. Klopp is also looking at Dutch international, de Vrij, who has for long been linked to a move to Manchester United.
The centre back’s deal at the Eternal City’s outfit runs out next summer and he has failed to agree new terms, meaning Lazio do have to sell this summer to risk losing him for free next year.
Balde is an exciting, goal scoring winger who has scored 15 goals in 31 league appearances, in the mould of Mane and is famed for his dribbling prowess. De Vrij is a centre half known for his excellent reading of the game and superb interception skills.
