Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Arda Turan after agreeing personal terms with the Barcelona attacker, according to reports in Turkey via Sportmole.
The Turkish international has endured a frustrated life at the Nou Camp since joining them from Atletico Madrid for £24 million in 2015 and the La Liga runners-up are willing to listen to offers for him.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the player and he is keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the new season.
Turan is under contract with Barcelona until 2020 but the former Galatasaray man has found playing time hard to get at the Spanish giants, making only 36 appearances and scoring five goals over the
last two seasons. He started just 15 games both in the La Liga and the Champions League last season scoring three goals.
Reports claimed new Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde who replaced Luis Enrique last week has sanctioned the sale of the 30-year-old, as he is set to rebuild the squad.
However, the Spanish giants are yet to agree a fee with the North London club as they are holding out for £26 million, which seems to be on the high side for Wenger who is trying to cut down on Barca’s
valuation of the forward, and he is confident of getting his wish as Barca want the deal done quickly.
Arsenal are also planning to sign Leicester City ace Riyad Mahrez, Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
