AC Milan are ready to stoke the fires of a transfer move for Spanish international, Alvaro Morata. The 24 year old Real Madrid man is the priority signing for the 7-time Champions League winners, who are looking for a return to the elite of European football.
Milan have not won a league title in 6 years, and will be looking to end the dominance of Juventus, who have won the last six league championships. Bankrolled by their new Chinese investors, they have signed Mateo Mussachio, are on the verge of sealing a move for Franck Kessie but it is the former Juventus man that is their priority and the ace is set to undergo a medical with the Serie A side.
Morata, 24 has scored 20 goals for Madrid this term, with most of his appearances coming from the bench and with the 2018 World Cup in the horizon, will need regular playing time if he is to make the squad for next year’s mundial in Russia.
Gazetta Dello Sport claim that a bid in the region of &60m is being planned by Milan to prise him away from the Bernabeu, while it is believed that his wages will be fixed at & 8m per annul. The likes of Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked to his signature, but it would mean Milan have trumped their rivals by moving quickly for him.
Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has stuck with Karim Benzema as the club’s first choice striker, much to the frustration of Morata who believes his performances should have earned him a starting berth at the club. Any deal will be sorted after the Champions League final match between Real Madrid and Morata’s former club, Juventus at the Millennium stadium in Cardiff on Saturday.
