Reports in Sportwitness suggest that Jose Mourinho is set for a summer raid on Paris St Germain for the acquisition of highly rated centre back, Marquinhos.
The Brazilian defender has been courted by a host of top European clubs, but it seems The Red Devils have jumped to front of the queue for the former Roma man with their unbelievable €70m offer for the player, still not playing to the best of his abilities.
Barcelona were reportedly close to signing the player last summer, but the Ligue 1 holders rejected the offer almost immediately, insisting that the fee was nowhere their valuation of their prized asset.
Jose Mourinho has struggled in the league this season, and has identified a host of top players to mount a serious and sustained title challenge for next season and has placed the young Brazilian defender at the top of his defensive target list.
The Portuguese has reportedly grown frustrated with the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, who he feels they don’t have the right commitment to play for the Premier League giants.
Marquinhos is one of Europe’s top young talents, and has relative experience despite his tender years, as he has been playing regularly for the French giants since 2013, even as a teenager.
Marquinhos has been a mainstay for PSG since his move from Roma in 2013, and has made a total of 155 appearances, scoring 13 times.
