Manchester City Oasis Kit: When Will the Citizens Wear It

The Manchester City Oasis kit is a tribute to the club’s biggest fans- Liam and Noel Gallagher. The Gallagher brothers have been the most famous Manchester City fans for years. Now that they have decided to resurrect their iconic band ‘Oasis’, Man City fans are getting a special gift to commemorate the event.

Manchester City Oasis Kit: What is It Called?

To mark the 30th anniversary of Oasis’s debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’, the band’s frontman, Noel Gallagher, has teamed up with Manchester City and PUMA to create a limited-edition kit. The iconic album cover inspires the colourways of the kit. Officially known as the ‘Definitely City’ kit, Manchester City have confirmed that they will only wear it in select competitions.

Gallagher has also curated a range of clothing under the Definitely City line, which were modelled by none other than Pep Guardiola. The City manager joined first-team players in a playful recreation of the album’s iconic cover, adding a touch of humor and nostalgia to the launch event.

When Will City Wear the Manchester City Oasis Kit?

While fans may be eager to see their beloved City players don the ‘Definitely Maybe’ kit in the Premier League, their hopes will be dashed. The club has announced that this special edition jersey will make its appearance exclusively in select European fixtures. This decision aims to reserve the kit for the grandest stages in Europe, reflecting the club’s ambition to rock the continent.

The ‘Definitely Maybe’ kit will make its debut in the upcoming home clash against Inter Milan, a tantalizing rematch of the 2023 Champions League final.

Following this unveiling, the kit will be reserved for European away matches. The club’s group stage fixtures against Slovan Bratislava, Sporting, Juventus, and PSG offer potential opportunities to see the kit in action, although PSG’s dark home kit might be the only suitable match-up before the knockout stages.

Gallagher said: “It’s a proper honour. When PUMA approached us at one of the games about designing a kit it took about five seconds to agree to it. It’s the same colour palette as the cover of Definitely Maybe: it’s unique but it’s definitely striking, and I think it looks great. When you see people representing your club, it’s important that they look good.

Definitely City Design Inspirations

The ‘Definitely Maybe’ kit boasts a predominantly cream color palette, accented by light blue collar, sleeves, and side panels. A playful pop of pink adorns the sleeves and side panels, while the pink badge features a captivating ripple effect, reminiscent of the album’s cover. This distinctive pattern is echoed on the back of the shirt. Inside the collar, Gallagher’s personal touch is evident in the handwritten inscription, ‘Definitely City.

The shorts and socks maintain a classic look, featuring a plain blue hue with pink accents for the Puma logo and City badge. The kit’s release coincides with Oasis’ electrifying reunion announcement last month, which sent fans into a frenzy as they scrambled to secure tickets for the limited UK tour. The ticket launch was marred by technical difficulties and massive demand, resulting in lengthy queues and pricing controversies that left many fans frustrated.
