Euro 2024 Prize Money: How much will England win?

England have won only one of their group matches. Harry Kane and company will take home €27.25 million in total if they beat Spain in the final. If they suffer another near miss, UEFA will hand them a €24.5 million paycheck.

Euro 2024 Prize Money: How Much Will Spain Win?

Spain, on the other hand, have been flawless in the tournament so far. They won all three of their group matches, so they will make €1 million more than the Three Lions’ championship money. That means, Spain will receive a €28.25 million windfall should they manage to win their fourth European Championship title today. La Furia Roja will earn three million less if they can’t beat England in the final.

UEFA made no changes to the tournament’s prize money structure following the 2021 edition. This means teams will compete for the same €331 million pot, just like in the pandemic-delayed edition three years ago. Back then, Italy emerged victorious after a penalty shootout against England, securing the maximum payout for their dominant group stage performance.

Will England Players Donate Their Euro 2024 Prize Money?

Since 2007, England players have chosen to donate their match fees, thought to be in the region of £2,000 per appearance, to the England Football Foundation. This charity distributes the funds to various causes. As the initiative began, then-England captain David Beckham commented:

“As an England captain, and player, you have a responsibility to give back.”

Frank Lampard added: “Not only are we proud of playing for our country, but we know we can do certain things off the pitch to raise awareness. As an ex-England player I was proud to do that and I’m very proud that the current England players are doing the same.”

Nevertheless, it is still uncertain if prize money and bonuses are handled in the same manner as match fees.
