The transfer grind-mill in Spain believe that Alvaro Morata has chosen his next destination after leaving Real Madrid as he believes Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho will turn him to a genuine superstar, according to report from Metro.
The 24-year-old Real Madrid forward has been rumored to be close to a move to AC Milan, but put paid to all speculation after the Champions League final victory over Juventus by claiming that there is every possibility of him staying at Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Spanish television show, Deportes Cuatro claims that Morata is keen to join United, as he is keen on a reunion with Jose Mourinho, given that the Portuguese gave him his debut for Madrid in December 2010.
Manchester United had earlier been linked to Antoine Griezmann, but last week’s failure of Atletico Madrid to rescind their transfer ban means that The Frenchman is going to stay at the club, and that has stirred up Jose Mourinho to moves for other strikers, with Morata, Belotti and Lukaku all mentioned.
However, Everton striker, Romelu Lukaku is edging to a return back to Chelsea while Belotti is not yet tested at the highest level and will offer a huge risk for Mourinho, who is looking at Premier League glory next season. Morata is also not keen on a move to AC Milan, as they don’t offer Champions League football, and are Juventus rivals, a team Morata clearly holds dear to his heart.
Morata has grown frustrated with his time at Real Madrid as he has played second fiddle to Karim Benzema and with a World Cup year approaching, he knows he needs to play week in, week out to make Julen Lopetegui’s squad for next summer’s mundial.
