Few days after the opening of the transfer window, we’ve seen some couple players linked with top clubs and Chelsea just made advances talks to Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico and apparently they have “No problem” paying the buyout clause, according to report from Sportwitness.
This looks very strange because Chelsea have Thibaut Courtois. Cause it seems extravagant for the Premier League defending Champions to pay €30m for someone who would surely be back-up to Courtois.
The 23-year-old who manned the goalpost for Sevilla last season helped them finished in the fourth place on the La Liga table, he also has one appearance in UEFA Super Cup he has already been capped for Spain and he could be a very good back-up for Chelsea Goalkeeper
In December 2016, Rico was given the Sport award at the Young Andalusia Prizes, receiving his honor from regional president Susana Díaz, a fan of city rivals Real Betis.
It though that Courtois’s future at Stamford Bridge is on a thin rope, since he has turned down an offer from Chelsea drawing potential interest form Spain, despite wanting to agree on a new deal.
The Goalkeeper who is currently is on £100,000 wants to double the offer to £200,000, apparently he wants to earn the same as Manchester United Goalkeeper who is currently earning £200,000.
Courtois also helped the blue take on the Premier league last season and he also won himself a Golden glove after keeping 16 clean sheets last season.
