Arsenal are frantic efforts to avoid losing their top players and are willing to offer Alexis Sanchez an outrageous new contract that would make one of the highest paid player in the Premier League, according to report from Daily Star.
The club hierarchy has been sweating to get the Chilean international to commit his future to Arsenal, an issue that has dragged on since last summer and was initially reluctant to meet his wage demand before
postponing negotiations till the end of the season to allow Arsenal concentrate on making top four finish.
However, despite not qualifying for the Champions League and growing interests from outside, Arsenal are not ready to let go of their talisman and in the light of that a massive contract worth £1.3 million a year has now been reportedly offered to him.
The 28-year-old has only 12 months left on his current contract and top clubs across Europe interested in his services are closely monitoring his situation.
Arsenal are fully aware clubs will capitalize on their failure to secure a spot in the Champions League next season to tempt the forward away from the Emirates stadium and have decided to offer him over £300,000 per week to keep him at the club.
Sanchez’s representatives are reportedly already in Germany to hold talks with Bayern Munich but Arsene Wenger has maintained that the former Barcelona forward is contracted to Arsenal until 2018 and as such any decision will only be made by the club.
Wenger said: “We have nobody at the end of their contract so that will be completely our decision.
“Therefore I believe that we, the club, have a big job to do during the summer because you want to keep players like Alexis and end all the speculation that can happen.”
It is left to see if Sanchez would still be at the Emirates next season.
