Sky Sport Journalist confirms Arsenal are holding talks to complete signing for first signing

Arsene Wenger seems not to be deterred by the uncertainty currently enveloping his future at Arsenal as he is leaving no stone unturned to bolster his squad in the transfer window this summer.

Arsenal’s attack were anonymous in front of goal this season, which subsequently made them to miss out on the Champions League football next season. The North London club have been linked with a host of top-flight players.

And if the news coming from the Sky Sports is anything to go by, Arsenal are already holding talks with the representatives  of the sought-after Henry Onyekuru in a bid to sign the K.A.S Eupen forward.

With the future of Arsenal forwards Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Lucaz Perez all in doubt, Wenger is looking to add more options upfront and is ready to trigger the £6.8 million release clause in Onyekuru’s contract, even though his name may not ring a bell as such.

The 19-year-old, who made his debut for Eupen in 2015, has also attracted interest from other Premier League clubs such as Everton, Southampton and West Brom but Arsenal appear to be in the forefront to
land the signature of the impressive Nigerian forward.

He is currently the top scorer with 20 goals in the Belgium League and has scored 25 goals and provided 14 assists across all competitions this season. The left-sided attacker can also play on the right-wing or as a centre- forward.

However, moving to England may become with some difficulties due to his lack of international football which might make it not easy for him to secure the British work permit. But he is expected to feature for Super Eagle later this month in his first international assignment.

Though he can not be regarded as the expected replacement for Sanchez, he is expected to add more flair to Gunner attack.
